Legal Assistant

Olivia Carusi is a Legal Assistant in the Palo Alto office of Sanford Heisler Sharp, a national law firm with offices in the District of Columbia, New York, California, Tennessee, and Maryland. Olivia received her B.A. cum laude from Claremont McKenna College.

At Claremont McKenna, Olivia wrote her senior thesis on “The Role of Women’s Organizations in Post-Conflict Kosovo.” In the fall of 2023, she spent a semester in Copenhagen, studying international humanitarian law. Olivia was an executive member of CMC Advocates, a student-run group at Claremont McKenna for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. Her role in CMC Advocates sparked an interest in obtaining justice for survivors of sexual and domestic violence through the legal system.

Pursuing her interest in human rights advocacy, Olivia interned with the digital team at Human Rights Watch. She is particularly interested in navigating the legal system to help individuals harmed by civil rights violations, both on a local and international level.

In her free time, Olivia enjoys riding her horse, going for runs, and watching movies. She plans to attend law school in the future to pursue her passion for advocacy.
