Winnie Vien is a Senior Legal Assistant in Sanford Heisler Sharp’s San Diego office. Winnie graduated from Swarthmore College in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Anthropology and minors in Spanish and Chinese. During her time in college, she spent a summer as a teacher’s assistant at a program in Shanghai introducing liberal arts colleges to high school students in China. She also studied abroad in Granada, Spain during her junior spring. Her senior thesis focused on the topic of gentrification, urban development, and belonging in the Mission District of San Francisco.
Winnie also spent two summers working with housing rights and workers’ rights programs at Asian Americans Advancing Justice—Asian Law Caucus in San Francisco, where she further developed her interest in social justice and support for low-income, underprivileged communities. She hopes her language skills in Chinese and Spanish will also be useful in her future work.
