Nyamal Tuor is a Legal Assistant in the Nashville office of Sanford Heisler Sharp, LLP, a national law firm with offices in the District of Columbia, New York, California, Tennessee, and Maryland. She received her B.A. from Yale University.
While at Yale, Nyamal’s studies centered around post-colonial studies, critical race theory, migration, and Black social death.
In addition to her studies, Nyamal worked as a research assistant for a documentary on the integration of minor league baseball, A Long Way From Home, which won a Gold Telly Award in 2019. As a board member of the Yale Women’s Center, Nyamal planned lectures and teas to encourage intersectional feminist discourse on campus. Nyamal frequently made films in her undergraduate career, one of which was presented at the New Haven Film Festival and covered in her Ted Talk, “This is My Mother’s Feminism.”
She is considering entering a PhD or MFA program in a few years.
