Meredith Crockett Williams is a Legal Intake Specialist in the Nashville office of Sanford Heisler Sharp, LLP, a national law firm with offices in the District of Columbia, New York, California, Tennessee, and Maryland. She received her B.A. from the Fred D. Gray Institute of Law, Justice, and Society at Lipscomb University.
Meredith’s senior thesis focused on expanding access to community courts and pre-trial diversion programs in highly incarcerated zip codes. Her hope is to use that work and research to inform a career focused on restorative justice practices in the state judiciary.
Most recently, Meredith worked as a judicial intern for the General Sessions Court Division VIII and its C.A.R.E. Diversion Court. Previously, she worked in the Local Programs Office of the Tennessee Department of Transportation, AARP of Tennessee, and the Campus Election Engagement Project. Serving her campus, Meredith worked in the SALT (Serving and Learning Together) Office, where she conducted outreach trips to various nonprofit organizations and charities throughout Nashville. Additionally, she also served as President of Lipscomb University’s Honor’s College Council, as Treasurer of the Black Student Union, member of the Diverse Student Coalition, and the advisory student member of the General Education Council.
In the future, Meredith hopes to pursue a joint degree in law and public policy.
