Maya Martin is a Legal Assistant in the New York office of Sanford Heisler Sharp McKnight, a national law firm with offices in the District of Columbia, New York, California, and Tennessee. She received a B.A. in economics from Barnard College.

At Barnard College, Maya interned with a judge in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, worked as a research assistant for the Chair of the Barnard Economics Department, and focused her senior project on the over-criminalization of people with substance use disorders. After college and before joining Sanford Heisler Sharp McKnight, Maya worked in Corporate Coverage at BNP Paribas.

Maya is passionate about advocating for individuals and communities impacted by civil rights violations and aspires to attend law school in the future.
