Mariel Brunman is a Senior Legal Assistant in Sanford Heisler Sharp’s New York office. Mariel graduated from Wesleyan University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Science in Society and a Certificate in Civic Engagement. Her studies concentrated on the intersections of science and technology advancement, changes in labor practice and distribution, public policy, and public health. Mariel’s senior capstone project investigated patterns within the history of student activism at Wesleyan, paying special attention to changes in the relationship between the Administration and student body.
At Wesleyan, Mariel served as political director for campus efforts to contact elected officials, organized for the New Hampshire Democratic candidates in 2016 elections, directed the Science in Society Majors Committee, completed internships with Mayor Daniel Drew (Middletown, CT) and Senator Barbara Boxer (CA), and volunteered as a member of the Wesleyan Food Co-operative.
Mariel plans to pursue a law degree and Master’s Degree in Public Policy in the future.
