Kirsten Willer is a Senior Legal Assistant in Sanford Heisler Sharp’s San Francisco office. Kirsten graduated from Stanford University in June 2017 with a degree in International Relations. She wrote an honors thesis examining the link between discriminatory citizenship policies and ethnic rebellion in Sub-Saharan Africa, which won the International Relations departmental award. For this project, Kirsten traveled to Brussels, Belgium, to conduct archival research. Kirsten spent her junior year abroad in Paris, France, and Cape Town, South Africa, where she took courses on international politics.
During her time at Stanford, Kirsten was the president of the Stanford Outdoor Outreach Program, which facilitated backpacking and hiking experiences for low-income high schools around the Bay Area. Kirsten also was a member of the Student and Labor Alliance, which worked with Stanford’s campus workers to ensure that they had fair working conditions. Kirsten’s summer work has varied from interning with a refugee resettlement organization in San Jose, CA, to selling organic berries at farmers markets around the greater Seattle area.
Kirsten hopes to attend law school in the future.
