Katherine MacCary is a Legal Assistant in Sanford Heisler Sharp’s New York office. She comes to the firm from Middlebury College. Katherine graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in art history, cum laude and with High Honors in May 2019. She wrote a senior thesis, which received departmental honors, on the sculptural program of the Cathedral of St. Lazarus in Autun, France.
At Middlebury, Katherine was a member of the cross-country and track and field teams. She was an All-American in the 10,000 meter-run and received numerous All-Conference accolades in both cross-country and track and field. Katherine served as a representative on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. She underwent extensive bystander intervention training and assisted in teaching this curriculum to the men’s and women’s cross-country teams. Katherine also volunteered as a mentor at an elementary school.
She previously interned at Emerge America, a non-profit dedicated to recruiting and training women to run for political office. Katherine has a personal interest in gender equality in sports and pay parity in professional athletics.
