Elizabeth Snyder is a Legal Assistant in Sanford Heisler Sharp’s Washington, DC Office. Elizabeth graduated with departmental honors at Vassar College where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Science, Technology, and Society with correlate sequences in American Politics and Sociology. In her final year, Elizabeth completed a senior thesis on the intersections of neuroscience and the law where she explored the ethical implications of using the “brain defense” for criminal murder defendants with frontal lobe tumors.
At Vassar, Elizabeth began to explore the field of law through internships: first shadowing a Family Court Judge in Dutchess County, then interning in the Narcotics Bureau of the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office, and finally working part-time at a Family and Matrimonial law firm in Poughkeepsie for two years. In the summer of 2018, Elizabeth also interned with the DC Volunteer Lawyers Project helping victims of domestic violence while working within the DC Superior Court.
Elizabeth intends to pursue law school in the future and hopes to focus on public interest law.
