Chloe Prendergast is a Legal Assistant in Sanford Heisler Sharp’s San Francisco office. Chloe graduated magna cum laude from Yale University in 2020 with a degree in Political Science. While at Yale, Chloe won the Charles Washburn Clark prize for the best senior essay in comparative government or politics for her senior thesis: “The Comic Effect: Humor and the Construction of National Identity in Northern Ireland.” The paper focused on the connection between the institutional, linguistic, banal, and everyday sites that interconnect comedy and identity in the country. This research illuminated important connections between politics and culture, including the impact of legislation and litigation as it relates to individual and group rights.
At Yale, Chloe was a member and director of various comedy performance groups and publications. She was crowned the Last Comic Standing in the school’s 2018 competition and opened for SNL’s Sasheer Zamata in the fall comedy show. Chloe also worked as a research assistant in the Institute for Social and Policy Studies and as an economics teaching assistant during her time at school. Chloe has interned with various Democratic US Senate and Georgia Governor campaigns and in the Governor’s Office of Rhode Island.
