Caroline received her B.A. from the University of Michigan, where she majored in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics with a minor in History of Law and Policy.
Caroline Berkey is a Legal Assistant in the Nashville office of Sanford Heisler Sharp McKnight, a national law firm with offices in the District of Columbia, New York, California, and Tennessee.
At Michigan, Caroline was deeply engaged in prison reform work, which included being an Advocacy Coordinator for Citizens for Prison Reform, a Workshop Facilitator within the Prison Creative Arts Project, and a Research Associate at the Carceral State Project. As part of her role with the Prison Creative Arts Project, Caroline co-led creative writing workshops in Michigan prisons, fostering affirmation, self-expression, and collaborative storytelling among incarcerated individuals. These experiences, alongside her interdisciplinary background, continue to shape her interest in pursuing a career in law as a means of advancing systemic reform.
Caroline plans to attend law school in the future.
