Carolina Sturla is a Legal Assistant at Sanford Heisler Sharp’s New York Office. Carolina graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2019, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Public Health, and a minor in Spanish. Within her studies, she focused on social inequities in health policy. As an undergraduate, Carolina worked on a research study for rare, undiagnosed genetic diseases, a clinical study on how stress impacts health outcomes for immigrant children and volunteered with multiple organizations related to criminal justice and helping recently released inmates. In her final year, Carolina worked as a program assistant at an afterschool program where she provided trauma-informed care for refugee children.
While at Vanderbilt, Carolina explored her interests in civil rights and politics through internships at the Patna office of CARE India, Let America Vote, and Senator Kamala Harris’ office.
Carolina hopes to pursue a law degree or a master’s degree in social work to work in the field of immigrant and refugee advocacy.
