Carlos Ipuz-Rengifo is a Senior Legal Assistant in Sanford Heisler Sharp’s San Diego office. Carlos graduated with Latin and departmental honors from UCLA in 2017 with a major in Global Studies and a minor in Public Affairs. While at UCLA, he was involved in student government and residential life respectively lobbying for higher-education affordability in the UC system and promoting suitability programs throughout the residential halls. His senior thesis focused on the labor conditions and income of contractors working for dynamic ridesharing companies in the developing world.
During his junior year, he interned in Washington D.C. at the Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law working under their communications department in addition to conducting independent research on the availability of mental health resources in Latin America. During two of his summers, he worked at the ACLU San Diego as a policy intern and at the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office as a student volunteer.
Carlos is considering attending law school in the future.
