Angelina Xing is a Legal Assistant in Sanford Heisler Sharp’s Washington, DC office. Lina graduated from Yale College with honors in the Political Science major. Her primary interests in the major included U.S. housing policy and political theory. She was active for all four years in the Yale Political Union and served as President in her senior Fall. She also helped to organize and expand the accessibility of Yale Model Congress (a conference for high-school students) in her capacities as Treasurer and Supreme Court Coordinator.
Her senior thesis, which received the Philo S. Bennett Prize for political philosophy, explored the concept of sovereignty in relation to emergency powers. As a Jack Kent Cooke Oxbridge scholar, Lina pursued her interests in legal and political philosophy at University of Cambridge, where she completed an MPhil in Political Thought and Intellectual History. Her dissertation focused on the legal thought of Jeremy Bentham, his legal positivism, and its uses for the justification of empire.
A classically-trained pianist, she is an avid chamber musician. She is also inspired by film and has worked on the documentary, GET ME ROGER STONE. Lina plans on attending law school in the future.
