Attorney Needed in the Baltimore Office

Sanford Heisler Sharp, LLP is a public interest class-action litigation law firm with offices in New York, Washington, DC, San Francisco, Nashville, Baltimore, and San Diego. The Firm’s team is a tightly-knit community of lawyers, all committed to using the law to help craft and enforce a more just society. We specialize in civil rights and general public interest cases, representing plaintiffs with employment discrimination, sexual harassment, labor and wage violations, predatory lending, whistleblower, consumer fraud, and other claims. We have represented thousands of individuals in some of the most significant class action cases before the courts, securing landmark victories through trial and settlements. Our Baltimore practice is focused on employment discrimination and criminal/sexual violence cases involving sexual assault, sexual abuse and civil claims arising out of criminal acts. In addition, we have a number of cases currently before the district and federal appellate courts that raise novel issues of law.

We are currently seeking an attorney with 1-3 years of litigation experience to join our Baltimore office. The firm values someone with significant clinical or pro bono experience. Clerkship experience is also valued. This attorney will be expected to take on significant responsibility very quickly. The attorney will be responsible for taking and defending depositions within the first months; researching and briefing motions, memoranda, affidavits, and briefs that require little editing or oversight; coordinating client communications; and participating in mediations and court proceedings.

To be eligible, applicants must have:

  • 1-3 years litigation experience, some of which can come from work in a clinic or district court clerkship;
  • bar admission;
  • a dedication to civil rights;
  • strong academic credentials;
  • excellent writing and communication skills;
  • strong analytical capabilities; and
  • ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Recent hires to the firm graduated from Yale, Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, and NYU law schools.
