- In 2004, Sanford Heisler Sharp Chairman David Sanford served as lead counsel in a racial discrimination class action against the restaurant chain Cracker Barrel. In representing the NAACP and the Cracker Barrel employees and customers, Mr. Sanford got a historic settlement of $8.7 million. This was the only race discrimination case that was intervened in by the George W. Bush administration.
- Sanford Heisler Sharp, LLP represented Marc Thomas, the president and CEO of General Electric Aviation Materials. Thomas along with other GE African-American executives alleged racial discrimination in pay and promotions. The case was settled for undisclosed terms.
