Law360 (November 11, 2019, 10:05 PM EST) — The elite slate of attorneys chosen as Law360’s 2019 MVPs have distinguished themselves from their peers by securing hard-earned successes in high-stakes litigation, complex global matters and record-breaking deals.
Competition for the MVP distinction was fierce this year, with editors reviewing nearly 900 submissions to determine the winners. Beginning this week, Law360 will profile the 2019 class of MVPs, which includes 160 attorneys from 76 firms spanning 35 practice areas.
Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP and Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP tied for the top spot in 2019, taking home nine MVPs each.
Covington & Burling LLP and Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison LLP were close behind with seven MVP wins apiece, and Sullivan & Cromwell LLP followed with six.
Kirkland & Ellis LLP, Latham & Watkins LLP and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP took home five MVPs each, and Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, Goodwin Procter LLP, King & Spalding LLP, Mayer Brown LLP, Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP and O’Melveny & Myers LLP rounded out the top firms with four MVPs each.
