Current Investigations and Priority Areas

Current Areas of Investigation

Our firm is actively investigating emerging workplace issues where employees’ rights may be at risk:

Women in the Male-Dominated Industries

Many industries remain highly `male-dominated with persistent patterns of gender discrimination. Those industries include finance, technology, engineering, construction and trucking. We are seeking to connect with:

  • Women in finance with claims of discrimination in pay, promotion, or termination.
  • Women in technology with claims of discrimination in pay, promotion, or termination.
  • Women in engineering with claims of discrimination in pay, promotion, or termination.
  • Women in trucking with claims of discrimination in pay, promotion, or termination.

AI and Automated Hiring Tools

As more employers use artificial intelligence and automated systems to screen job applicants or make employment decisions, concerns are growing about discriminatory impacts on protected groups. We are particularly interested in hearing from:

  • Job applicants in California who encountered automated screening or evaluation tools (including AI tools) in the hiring process
  • Employees in California whose employers use automated tools in making assignment, promotion, or pay decisions

If you’ve applied for jobs or worked at a company using these technologies and believe you were treated unfairly, we want to hear from you.

Return-to-Office Policies Without Accommodations

Some employers’ return-to-office mandates fail to provide legally required accommodations. We are investigating situations where:

Caregivers, pregnant workers, or individuals with disabilities faced adverse action (reduced bonuses, missed promotions, or termination) because of rigid return-to-office policies that lack exceptions for accommodations.

Large Employers

For all of these areas of investigation, we are particularly focused on companies with substantial workforces where patterns of discrimination or policy violations may affect many workers.

If your experience relates to any of these issues or if you’ve encountered other patterns of discrimination or rights violations affecting multiple workers, please reach out.

Employees in States with Strong Employment Laws

While federal employment laws protect workers nationwide, several states have especially strong protections for employees. Those states with particularly strong employment laws include:

  • California
  • Illinois
  • Maryland
  • Massachusetts
  • Minnesota
  • New York
  • New Jersey
  • Pennsylvania
  • Washington
