Overland Solutions Wage and Hour Class Action – $2.4 Million Settlement
Case Summary
In March 2017, Sanford Heisler Sharp McKnight filed a class action complaint on behalf of Plaintiff Martin Fletscher and other California insurance inspectors who were classified as independent contractors by Overland Solutions, Inc. (“OSI”).
The Complaint alleged that he and the other class members were misclassified as independent contractors, and that they were, in fact, employees and had been denied wages. Among other allegations, the Complaint claimed that the insurance inspectors were not paid minimum wages for all hours worked and were not reimbursed for business expenses.
On August 8, 2018, the parties agreed to a settlement of $2.4 million to resolve the claims of the class. On April 15, 2019, the class settlement was granted final approval.
